Moroccan wedding blankets, Handria, are a window into Berber culture. They’re an important part of the wedding ceremony, traditionally woven by female relatives of the bride.
Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. It's woven from a combination of sheep's wool, cotton and linen. They’re decorated with shiny, silver sequins.
The tribe(s) responsible for these wedding blankets come from the Middle Atlas region of Morocco, near the Beni Ouarain, creators of those beautiful Moroccan geometric rugs (also featured in our shop)!
Handria make for a brilliant bed cover, a throw, a bohemian rug, a wallhanging or a wonderful gift.
